Nowadays, many primary schools give English courses from the first grade. It is commonly believed that the earlier children begin to study a foreign language, the better they can master it, so the English class in primary schools is necessary. What's more, studies show that schoolchildren are more likely to cultivate an interest and love in English learning rather than to study it as a boring task.

But others take a negative attitude. They don't think language study in early age could foster the top language master. On the contrary, if children begin to study English too early, their study of Chinese would be interfered, and the result is that both their mother tongue and English would be poor. It is true that many children in the first grade always confuse English letters with the Pinyin.

Consequently, I have to agree that English class in primary school is good for children in language learning, but we should not ignore its weak points. So English class in primary schools is good and the class beginning from the fourth grade would be better.

With rapid development of computer technology, making friends online has become a hotspot among people, and people’s views about it vary from individual to individual.

As for me, I would like to make friends in the real life rather than make friends online. Firstly, it is a waste of time to spend too much time in chatting online, and we have no enough time in studying. What’s worse, it does great harm to our health. Secondly the Internet is virtual, and there are all kinds of people in the virtual world. We are likely to be cheated. As a consequence, it will do damage to our property and emotion. Last but not the least, the over-reliance on it will bring about psychological problems. For one thing, we will ignore our real parents and friends. Actually, we are becoming lonely. For another, we may avoid facing the fact.

In a word, I don’t think that it is wise to make friends online. As an old saying goes great minds think alike, friends are the people who share happy and sorrow with you, not only chat.

Recently, an investigation has caused heated debate among the society. The result of the investigation has showed that about 50% of students in cities have private tutors. Some people think it’s quite necessary to hire a tutor to help the students with their homework, while some people argue that hiring a tutor has more disadvantages than advantages.

On the surface, hiring a tutor can help students to improve their marks, but in fact, it takes up too much time of the students’ time that they will have no time for rest and entertainment. They spend all their time on study, they don’t have time to do exercise or play outside. What’s more, some teachers are eager to help students to do well on the exams, offering unnecessary tasks for the students, in this case, the students burden will be very heavy to some degree. Thus, I think it’s not necessary to have private tutors.

Nowadays, campus construction has been brought into focus. According to a survey, almost all the schools and colleges are rebuilding their campus: not only the teaching buildings but also the circumstances. In this essay, I will discuss the importance of campus construction and offer my own view on it.

A lot of efforts have been made to better the campus environment, in particular, the construction of a green campus. Many colleges have taken serious measures to build environmental friendly campus, such as lawns, artificial pools, and tree-lined roads. However, in my view, this is only the initial step and we can do more.

To begin with, the schools and colleges may implement strict regulation of waste on campus: no matter the leftovers in canteens or the litter in classrooms. Moreover, on the student side, we can use green bags instead of disposable plastic bags and use more recycling chopsticks and bowls. In addition, the most important thing for everyone is that we should raise our awareness of environmental protection.
