suggestion的用法【第二篇】

suggest是个及物动词，后面可以跟名词、代词、动词-ing形式或从句作宾语。各种试题中对suggest的考查通常涉及到它的非谓语动词形式、宾语从句及虚拟语气等方面。下面对suggest的相关考点进行一下总结。

suggest作“(间接地)表明、建议、使想起”解时，后面可跟名词、代词或动词-ing形式作宾语。如：

That girl's sun-tanned face suggests excellent health.

那个姑娘被太阳晒黑了的脸表明她身体非常健康。

Mr. Smith suggested a way out of the difficulty.

史密斯先生提出了一个克服困难的办法。

An explanation suddenly suggested itself to me.

名词suggestion的用法

suggestion作“建议”解，后面跟同位语从句时，以及suggestion用作主语，后面跟表语从句时，从句中的谓语动词均用虚拟语气。如：

总有一些英文词汇容易使人混淆，特别是在实际使用的时候。外语学习者或初学者如果用错语境，可能会引起听众的误解。

suggestion和advice就是这样一组词，要了解它们之间的区别，才能更好地使用。

advice主要是在咨询的时候使用，当一个人对某种特定现象没有清楚的认知，又需要了解自己应该做些什么的时候就会咨询别人，寻求别人的advice，而advice就可以是现存问题的解决方案。

值得注意的是，advice是正式的，还带有控制和命令的意味，因为提供建议的人往往有经验。

能够提供advice的人已经进入商业化阶段，开设公司提供某一特定领域的咨询服务，比如职业选择咨询、商业咨询、医疗咨询等，而提供suggestion的人却不具备商业化的条件和价值。

同时因为上述不同的存在，advice和suggestion在执行层面也存在差异，执行advice的人概率比执行suggestion的高，而且很多给出advice的人需要对执行后果负责。

尽管人们都把advice和suggestion看作近义词，但它们之间并不一样，可以与它们替换的同义词也不一样。
