昨天，我们全家参与了一个非常有意义的活动——“地球一小时”活动。

晚上，我正在做作业。爸爸突然走过来对我说：“澄澄，等会儿我们和全世界人民一起来参与一个活动好吗？”“和全世界人民一起？是什么活动这么隆重呀？”我好奇地问道。“今天是‘地球一小时’活动日，晚上8：30——9：30熄灯一小时，目的是让我们养成低碳环保意识，保护地球。”爸爸微笑着说。听了之后，我连声说好。

还不到8：30我和妈妈就把电灯关了，爸爸也把电视关了。家里一片漆黑，真的是伸手不见五指。我来到窗前，以往万家灯火的景象不见了，只有几户居民家里的灯还亮着，我想他们可能是不知道吧。望着窗外，不由得使我想起近几年频频发生的沙尘暴、雪灾和地震。我想这可能是“地球母亲”生气了，因为“儿女们”都太不懂得“体贴母亲、珍惜母亲”了。想到这里，借着微光，我拿起长笛，吹了几首曲子，这是送给“地球母亲”的礼物，希望她不要再生气，不要再哭泣流泪了。

低碳环保不能只靠这一小时，更重要的是平时生活工作中的注意与坚持，让它成为一种习惯。

为了我们能更好地生活在地球上，为了我们能有一个更温馨、更美好的家园，让我们携手起来保护环境、珍惜地球！

昨天3月27日，是地球一小时活动日。我和妈妈度过了一段美好的黑暗时光。

我用望远镜看着窗外，奇怪，我小声说，怎么窗外的人们没有关灯呢？难道他们就不知道今天是地球一小时活动日吗？现在地球变暖的现象日益严重，已经引起各国各界人士的高度重视，我们应该积极响应地球一小时活动。

过去地球上树林郁郁葱葱，河流清澈见底，到处都是飞禽走兽。可现在有的人为了短期利益破坏环境，每年都会产生大量的铅、砷、汞，导致地球气温逐渐变暖。据说，气温上升24摄氏度，地球会发生一次可怕的灾难，到那时我们后悔都来不及了。

所以，我们应该保护地球、保护环境、热爱我们这唯一美好的家园。我决定先从三件小事做起：第一，不浪费电，每次都记住随手关灯，无论在家里还是在公共场合，并向身边的每个人进行宣传；第二，不浪费水，每次洗完手都及时关掉水龙头；第三，节约用纸，改掉以前浪费纸张的坏习惯，作业本正面用完再用反面，并且在用手纸时尽量减少用纸量。其实能做的还有很多很多，我只想对大家说：从我做起，从小事做起，让我们行动起来，保护地球吧！

“地球一小时”是世界自然基金会（WWF）向全球发出的一项倡议，通过关灯一小时的行动，向全球政府、企业及个人发出积极的信号，呼吁每个人作出积极的改变应对气候变化。“009年3月28日，从斐济开始，澳大利亚、日本、新加坡、中国、印尼等亚洲的城市将率先熄灯，欧洲、美洲各国的城市将紧随其后”，WWF（中国）首席代表欧达梦表示告诉记者，目前已有来自62个国家和地区的74座城市已经承诺参与“地球一小时”活动，同时该活动正在北京、上海积极推广。“作为普通的个人，利用这一小时时间我们可以和家人共进烛光晚餐，大楼的工作人员可以熄灭霓虹灯，作为市长可以鼓励市民参与，每个人都可以为低碳经济贡献自己的力量”，欧达梦说。

“地球一小时”活动致力于提高公众的环保意识，于2007年在悉尼首次发起，当年共有220万人参与。2008年。全球35个国家70个城市和地区的5000多万人参与其中，悉尼歌剧院、旧金山金门大桥、伦敦市政厅等标志性建筑的外观等也一同熄灭。2009年，“地球一小时”的目标是全球1000座城市的约10亿人参与该活动。

为什么这么做？

我们的愿景

2009“地球一小时”的目标是让个人、家庭和企业尽可能多的参与进来，关闭灯光和其他电器一个小时。

“地球一小时”旨在让全球社会民众了解到气候变化所带来的威胁，并让他们意识到个人及企业的一个小小动作将会给他们所居住的环境带来怎样深刻的影响——小小改变就可能成就巨大影响。

Earth Hour has brought about some new changes to our lives. The iconic Bird’s Nest National Stadium and the nearby Water Cube National Aquatics Center, usually illuminated by floodlights, went dark at 8:30 , while dozens of hotels, office buildings, shopping malls and restaurants also switched some lights off. People join activities such as candle-lit dinners and star-gazing parties as a response to the call for going dark. However, some critics have dismissed the event as simply a gimmick that will not make any difference.

From my point of view, Earth Hour is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community. A call to stand up, to take responsibility and to get involved in working towards a sustainable future. Earth Hour is a message of hope and a message of action. Everyone can make a difference.

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today. AD.

In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. The area of desert in the world is growing every year. Many parts of the world which once had large populations and produced plenty of crops, have become deserts. Dunhuang in China, deep in the heart of the Gebi Desert, was once a great city.

Cattle are one cause of the problem. In good years, famers increase the numbers of their cattle. Then one year, the rains fail to come. The farmers do not want to kill any of their cattle, so the cattle eat ail the grass and anything that grows on poorer land. If this continues for several years, the grass never grows again and the land becomes a desert. One suggested answer is for farmers to limit the numbers of their cattle.

Another problem is that good soil is gradually lost. When trees are cut down, there is nothing to hold the soil in place on the hillside. So when if rains, the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers. Strong winds can also blow away the valuable soil that lies on the top of the fields.
