a hundred years ago today a man died. he died immortal. he departed laden with years, laden with works, laden with the most illustrious and the most fearful or responsibilities, the responsibility of the human conscience informed and rectifies. he went cursed and blessed, cursed by the past, blessed by the future; and these are two super forms of glory. on the deathbed he had, on the one hand, the acclaim of contemporaries and of posterity; on the other, that triumph of hooting and of hating which the implacable past bestows on those who have combated it. he was more than a man was; he was an age. he had exercised functions and fulfilled a mission. he had been evidently chosen for the work, which he had done by the supreme will, which manifests itself as visibly in the laws of destiny as in the laws of nature.

the eighty-four years, which this man lived, span the interval between the monarchy at its apogee and the revolution at its dawn. whence was born, luis xiv still reigned; when he died, louis of xvi already wore crown; so that his cradle saw the last rays of the great throne, and his coffin the first gleams from the great abyss.

in the presence of this society, frivolous and dismal, voltaire alone, having before his eyes those united forces, the court, the nobility, capital; that unconscious power, the blind multitude ...

1. The following are my opinions, and do not reflect the opinions or policies of any particular prosecutor's office.

I am a prosecutor. I believe in law and order. I am the adopted son of a police officer, a Marine and a hairdresser. I believe in accountability and that we should all be safe in our communities. I love my job and the people that do it. I just think that it's our responsibility to do it better...

2. We are losing our listening. We spend roughly 60 percent of our communication time listening, but we're not very good at it. We retain just 25 percent of what we hear. Now -- not you, not this talk, but that is generally true.

Let's define listening as making meaning from sound. It's a mental process, and it's a process of extraction...

3. There are things we say when we catch the eye of a stranger or a neighbor walking by. We say, "Hello, how are you? It's a beautiful day. How do you feel?" These sound kind of meaningless, right? And, in some ways, they are. They have no semantic meaning. It doesn't matter how you are or what the day is like. They have something else. They have social meaning. What we mean when we say those things is: I see you there...

Leading members and judges, young friends: Hello, everybody!

My name is XX, and we are pleased to be able to discuss the pursuit of excellence, dedication youth, this topic, I am going to talk about today is "willing to sacrifice, the fire ignited youth."

Let the fire burn eternal youth, so that life lightning across the horizon, with all the enthusiasm in exchange for time, there is no end to the dream of youth! I really appreciate the "Agni youth," these words inside, and has been encouraging with its own study, work and life. I think that youth should be burned, give off light only value! Burning of ones life may also be corrupt, in that case, I do not want to corrupt, not corrupt, I would like to burn up! Friends present here! You like it?

Youth is our most beautiful season of life, she is breeding in early spring of life, demonstrating a warm summer, with autumns master real hidden, which makes clear the hope of winter, full of poetic passion and not a lack of hard work, fashion, romantic and full of the hard struggle. When a persons youth integrate into an era, a career, so youth will not go away, and this will certainly cause in the years of experience in the reflection of bright light.

1、"To speak for your ears, I have overcome fears, To silence your groans, My skills I have honed." Start with a poem or a rhyme. Pick a poem that is short, lively, and related to your theme or your message.

2、Start your speech with a song. Ideally, you want to sing on key. But if you cannot hold a tune, think of it as a great start to a humorous speech!

3、Use an audio entrance. Pre-record the first lines of your speech to set the tone. Take care, though, that your recording sounds professional and not tinny, otherwise you will get a negative effect.

4、Blow up a balloon. Or do something equally unexpected. Catch the audience off guard. Make sure nobody is drinking hot liquid when you do this.

5、Perform a magic trick. There are many easy magic tricks you can find online. Take the audience by surprise and make it entertaining from the start.

6、The two most important parts of a speech are the introduction and the conclusion. The introduction sets the tone for your speech, while the conclusion determines how the audience will feel when they leave. Dont set yourself up for failure from the start: drop these awful openings from your repertoire. Instead, replace them with an opening that sets you apart and readies you to deliver a great speech.

Do you see the glass as half-full rather than all empty? The two differentanswers to this question represent two different attitudes towards life --optimistic attitude and pessimistic attitude.

Optimism always leads to happiness, health and success while pessimism, bycontrast, results in hopelessness, sickness and failure. That's becauseoptimists and pessimists deal with the same challenges and disappointments invery different ways. When things go wrong, the pessimist tends to blame himself, while the optimist looks for loop holes. The optimist feels in control of hisoverall life. If things are going badly, he acts quickly, looking for solutions, forming a new plan of action, and seeking for advice. On the contrary, thepessimist yields to the arrangement of fate and moves slowly. He doesn't seekadvice, since he assumes nothing can be done.

Most people are a mix of optimism and pessimism. Optimism is important inall aspects of our lives. If you can change your mind from pessimism tooptimism, you can change your life.

We, having been living in one corner of the world for several decades, must ask ourselves what is the level of our national

strength and our civilization. this is the final awakening of which i speak. to put it another way, if we open our eyes and take a hard look at the situation within our country and abroad, what place does our country and our people occupy, and what actions should we take?... our task today can be said to be the intense combat between the old and the modern currents of thought. those with shallow views all expect this to be our final awakening, without understanding how difficult it is to put [constitutional government] into practice... there is no difference between the shameful disgrace of submissiveneof men of ancient times hoping that sage rulers and wise ministers will practice benevolent government and present day men hoping that dignitaries and influential elders will build a constitutional republic. why should i reject the desires of dignitaries and influential elders, who are after all a part of the people, to build a constitutional republic? only because a constitutional republic cannot be conferred by the government, cannot be maintained by one party or one group, and certainly cannot be carried on the backs of a few dignitaries and influential elders. a constitutional republic which does not derive from the conscious realization and voluntary action of the majority of the people is a bogus republic and bogus constitutionalism. it is political window-dressing, in no way like the republican constitutionalism of the countries of europe and america, because there has been no change in the thought or the character of the majority of the people, and the majority of the people have no personal feeling of direct material interest.
