端午节是家乡三大节日之一，在我的家乡，每当农历五月到来，家家户户便忙碌起来。老人们开始准备包粽子了，他们从江边采来粽叶后，将碧绿的粽叶放入开水中烫一下，再捞出来剪好放在冷水中待用。扎粽子用的不是细绳子，也不是包装带，而是一种绿绿的挺结实的水草，家乡人管它叫“蓑衣草”，我觉得用它来扎粽子真是绝配。糯米是做粽子的主要原料，如果想吃甜的话，包上红枣或是桂圆；如果想吃咸的话，放进一些切碎的火腿肉；还有的老人心灵手巧，放上什锦菜，百味俱全，无论是视觉还是味觉上都是一种美的享受。

我的外婆是个包粽子的能手，每年的端午节，她都会大显身手，包出各式各样、各种口味的粽子。经外婆的手包出的粽子不仅个个有棱有角，形状各异，而且结结实实、久煮不破。左邻右舍请她帮忙，她都乐呵呵地答应着。看着乡亲们吃着自己亲手包的粽子时，外婆的脸上总是洋溢着幸福的微笑。
