中国五千年的文明，文化既具有地域特征和民族特征，又具有时代特征。在历史性意义上，中国文化既包括源远流长的传统文化，也包括中国文化传统发生剧烈演变的近代文化与现代文化。中国传统文化是中国文化的主体部分，也是我们从先辈传承下来的丰厚的历史遗产。它不仅记录了中华民族和中国文化发生、演化的历史，而且作为世代相传的思维方式、价值观念、行为准则、风俗习惯，渗透在每个中国人的血脉中，制约着今日之中国人的行为方式和思想方式。中国传统文化并不简单地等同于儒家文化，也不是儒家文化、道家文化和佛家文化的简单相加，而是中华民族各种思想文化的总和，包括了各种观念形态和物质形态的文化。

中国传统文化有很多，我首推诗词歌赋，因为在我心中，它们是最特别的存在，也较具代表意义。我自小便极喜爱唐诗，及长，又觉得词的韵味更深远些，后来涉猎多了，便愈发觉得中国文化博大精深，又不免感慨那些古人的才情，确是现代人无可比拟的。有时候看多了那些诗词，便觉得从骨子里透出一股清灵的感觉，所有的一切皆可抛至脑后，宁愿“采菊东篱下”，抛却扰人的尘嚣。有人说我太情绪化，我不否认，有时我看了一阙词，忽而体会词人的感受便不免难受起来，极易被那一阙阙词控制感情，然后心便隐隐痛了起来。

我知道中国传统文化影响之深之大，自汉唐以来，中国传统文化，包括儒释道思想以及文字、绘画、建筑、雕刻等等，传入了日本。此后并对韩国、对东南亚、南亚一些国家如菲律宾、新加坡、越南等国家和地区都产生了深远的影响，郑和七下西洋更是加深了这种影响。由此形成了世所公认的以中国文化为核心的东亚文化圈，特别是其中亚洲四小龙的经济腾飞和崛起引起了全世界的关注和思考，焦点是它们与中国文化的关系问题。
