初中英语演讲稿【第一篇】

The importance of time Good morning, dear teacher and my friends!

My name is ’m a student of Great 7 from xxxmiddle school. I ’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech today. My topic is “the importance of time”。

Someone says: “Time is money!” But I think time is even more important than money. Why? Because when money is spent, we can get it back. However, When time is gone,It will never return no matter how rich you are.

But it is a pity that there are a lot of people who do not know the importance of time 。 They spend all day on smorking, drinking and do not know that wasting time means wasting life.

As to us, a middle schoole student, School time is a very important period for our growing up. We should make full use of it to do something usefull, just like learning different kinds of knowledge , taking exercise for a good health and so on.

In a word , we should save is limited and so,very precious. It will not return any more when it is gone.

That’s all for my k you!(或者 Thanks for your listening!)

The Road to Happiness

It isa commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous.

For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, beincompatible with happiness.

If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain thingsin common.

初中英语演讲稿【第三篇】

And I know what you're thinking. You know, I'm up here bagging out inspiration, and you're thinking, "Jeez, Stella, aren't you inspired sometimes by some things?" And the thing is, I am. I learn from other disabled people all the time. I'm learning not that I am luckier than them, though. I am learning that it's a genius idea to use a pair of barbecue tongs to pick up things that you dropped. (Laughter) I'm learning that nifty trick where you can charge your mobile phone battery from your chair battery. Genius.

We are learning from each others' strength and endurance, not against our bodies and our diagnoses, but against a world that exceptionalizes and objectifies us. I really think that this lie that we've been sold about disability is the greatest injustice. It makes life hard for us. And that quote, "The only disability in life is a bad attitude," the reason that that's bullshit is because it's just not true, because of the social model of disability. No amount of smiling at a flight of stairs has ever made it turn into a ramp. Never. (Laughter) (Applause) Smiling at a television screen isn't going to make closed captions appear for people who are deaf. No amount of standing in the middle of a bookshop and radiating a positive attitude is going to turn all those books into braille. It's just not going to happen.

Another primary health risk associated with smoking are lung cancer, which kills more than 20,000 people in the UK every year.

US studies have shown that men who smoke increase their chances of dying from the disease by more than 22 times.

Women who smoke increase this risk by nearly 12 times.
