《高中英语新课程标准》明确提出:课堂是教学的生命。课堂45分钟是关键;教师要向课堂45分钟要效率。新课程标准下的高中英语教学任务大,学生学习负担重,而英语课开课节数并不多,所以要想提高高中英语课堂的教学质量,减轻学生的课后学习负担,提高课堂的有效性是关键。那么如何才能提高高中英语课堂的有效性呢?

一、课前精心备课

备课这一环节对于教师来说是熟悉得不能再熟悉的事了,备课是上好一堂课的基础。一般认为,备课就是备好课本,即教材。其实,真正备好一堂课,做到只备教材内容是远远不够的。它还包括学生的实际基础,预计课堂上可能出现的情况,运用什么教学方法,学生的参与程度,精心设计的课后作业等等,只有这样才能称得上精心备课。笔者认为,要做到精心备课就要注意以下两个方面:

(一)备好教材是基础

备好教材首先就要吃透教材,对一堂课所要教授的各方面的内容要做到心中有数;然后可以进行集体备课,利用集体的智慧可以集思广益,达到最科学最全面的交流和完善,实现资源共享,对各种知识的讲授作出合理的安排,同时避免教学枯燥无味。比如说,教授单词时,传统的教法就是对单词进行带读,讲解其用法,对其进行造句等等,这种教学方法比较单一乏味。在新的教学理念下,我们要做到“词不离句,句不离文”,将单词的学习融入到课文中去,学生有获得该知识的载体和具体语境,学习起来印象深刻多了。同时教学也可以多几份幽默,激活学生的兴趣,让所有的学生都参与进来,从而得到最佳的课堂教学效果。

(二)备好学生是关键

学生在课堂上的参与程度是检验教师教学效果的一个重要方面然而在英语教学实践中,我们常常会看到这样的情景:老师在台上讲得眉飞色舞,而下面的学生有的在睡觉或做别的与课堂无关的事情,学生缺乏学习英语的兴趣和热情。如果这样,老师讲得再好也是枉然。所以,我们备课的时候,一定要以学生的实际情况出发,着眼于学生的英语基础和学习兴趣,不断调整更新自己的教学方法,让自己的教学与学生的日常生活联系起来,让学生不断地参与到课堂中来,这才是提高课堂有效性的关键。

二、课堂上坚持老师为主导,学生为主体

在《新课程标准》的教学理念下,教师要彻底摒弃传统的“填鸭式”或“满堂灌”的教学模式,真正做到以学生为主体,教学效果才能真正体现出来。

(一)新课导入要简短有趣

俄国大文豪托尔斯泰说:“成功的教学需要的不是强制,而是激发学生的兴趣。”所以,我们在新课导入时一定要根据教材内容精心设计,做到既简单易懂,又能激起学生的兴趣,这样的导入就向磁铁一样牢牢吸住学生的心思,让所有学生积极投入到课堂中来。比如:我在上牛津版高中英语模块一 Unit 2 “Growing Pains”时,导入部分用多媒体展示了几种烦恼: pains of examinations, pains of privacy, pains of love 等等,考试没考好被父母责备的烦恼,个人隐私被父母窥探的烦恼,父母有时吵架摔东西的烦恼等等。这些烦恼在学生的日常生活中都经历过,所以一下子引起了学生的共鸣,同学们都有兴趣,都参与到课堂上来了,课堂也达到了很好的教学效果。

(二)老师精讲,学生多练

在每个任务型教学环节中,老师指令要清楚,讲授要限时,要把更多的时间让给学生。学生之间可以进行小组合作性学习和探究性学习,培养学生的创新能力。比如通过讨论、竞赛、表演等形式,活跃课堂气氛,调动全体学生的积极性,尤其让后进生重拾自信,让所有学生都参与进来,让每个学生都有不同的收获,让每个学生都有机会体验成功,燃起他们学习英语的激情。学生与学生之间,学生与老师之间交流也加强了,课堂效益也会大大提高。

三、课后及时进行教学反思

有人曾说:一个教师写一辈子的教案还是普通教师,但坚持写一年的教学反思,就可以成为一个名师。这就足以说明写教学反思对教师课堂教学的重要性。无论怎样的一个教师,每堂课的教学类容都不同,学生的基础也存在着差异,所以每堂课下来都会有让自己感到满意或遗憾的地方。教学反思可以及时地将每堂课的闪光点,不足之处,失误的地方,学生存在的问题,教法值得改进的地方等等记录下来。长期坚持写教学反思,就能足以“扬长避短”,让自己的课堂教学得到及时调整,教学效果得到不断提高,教学经验得到不断丰富。通过教学反思,教师还会发现自身还存在着不足,还要不断提升自己的专业知识,提高自身的业务素质,进而去探索属于自己特有的教学方法,把自己的课堂打造的更高效,更有特色。同时教师也会逐渐形成自己独特的教学风格。

四、课余加强辅导

课余辅导包括学生的作业﹑习题解疑辅导和学生心理辅导。首先,对于作业,教师要做到精心设计。作业选题要有针对性和层次性,它是针对授课内容的有效反馈,同时它又要求所有学生都有收获,尤其是对后进生来说要有成功感。再次,作业批改要认真细致。通过作业批改,让学生明白错在哪里,怎么改正。还可以在学生的作业本上写下一些表扬或激励的话语,让学生感受到老师对他们的关注,激起他们学习的兴趣。习题辅导时,教师要充满热情和耐心,对学生的见解多持欣赏的态度,及时表扬学生的每一点进步,多为后进生补缺,真诚和蔼地对待每一位学生。同时,教师要经常找学生进行心里沟通,及时了解学生的心理状况。高中学生学业负担重,来自家庭和学校的压力都比较大。一次考试成绩对学生的心理波动也会比较大。如果不及时和学生进行心理沟通,有的学生也许就会自卑,从此一撅不振等等。有时候学生的家庭或者生活出现了意外情况都会对学生的心理造成负面影响,如果不及时疏通,就会对学生的学习带来很大的影响。

所以,要想提高高中英语课堂45分钟的教学效果,课前充分备课,课堂上如何实施教学过程,课后及时写教学反思,及时与学生交流都是必不可少的。同时,教师的授课艺术,学生的参与程度,课堂气氛,师生互动的程度等等都会影响课堂教学的有效性。而且,作为一名教育工作者我们更要在教学实践中不断探索和创新,真正走进新课程,在教学中不断总结经验,并逐步完善和提高自我,最终更好的服务于学生。
